Furthermore, dragon fruit, bananas, jackfruit, and mangoes also made significant contributions to the great success of the fruit industry last year.
According to industry insiders, there remains a positive outlook for the fruit sector in the year ahead as the nation is continuing to expand its export markets to major countries such as the United States, the EU, Australia, and the Republic of Korea.
The country is also exerting great efforts as it negotiates for additional fruit products to enter the Chinese market via official channels.
Experts have assessed that the fruit industry is required to change its mindset and management methods in order to maintain sustainable development, as well as keeping up with global trends.
They also underscored the importance of building raw material areas for production and to ensure a stable supply source, while simultaneously expanding markets through free trade agreements (FTAs).
