Four Japanese firms invest in new city in Binh Duong
VOV.VN - The southern province of Binh Duong on April 17 announced its approved plan for four Japanese firms to invest in a new urban area - The One World city.
The One World is a big real estate project that covers a total area of nearly 50ha in Thuan An city of Binh Duong province, a gateway to Ho Chi Minh City – the country’s largest economic and financial hub.
The project has been approved with a total investment capital of more than US$1 billion. Three Japanese firms - Sumitomo Forestry, Kumagai Gumi, and NTT Urban Development – agreed to contribute 49% of the capital. The remaining 51% will be sourced from the Vietnamese firm – Kim Oanh Real Estate.
In addition, Japanese retailer AEON also decided to invest in a big trading centre in The One World. This will be the third AEON trading centre in Binh Duong.
At the ceremony on April 17, Vo Van Minh, head of the provincial administration, affirmed that Binh Duong would accompany and create the best possible for investors to deploy the project.
Ono Masuo, consul general of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his belief that the support of local authorities and cooperation between Vietnamese and Japanese businesses would contribute to spurring sustainable development in Binh Duong.
