First-ever Cam Ranh lobster festival to open in mid-August

VOV.VN - The central coastal city of Cam Ranh will host the first-ever lobster festival 2024, which is scheduled to take place from August 3 to 11, announced local authorities at a press conference on August 28.

Themed Shining Blue Bay, the event will offer a number of activities, including a culinary culture festival and exhibition – trade connections of lobster, seafood, and “One Commune One Product” products; a boat racing and basket boat shaking festival; and a flower vehicle - bicycle parade, along with various music performances.

Most notably, a lobster culinary performance contest and national record of “120 dishes made from Cam Ranh lobster” will also be held during the festival.

According to Ngo Huu Hien, vice chairman of the Cam Ranh municipal administration, the festival aims to provide information about local lobster development planning, transfer and demonstrate new technologies, and limit environmental pollution in lobster farming in Cam Ranh.

It will also create a golden opportunity for Cam Ranh, dubbed “a kingdom of lobsters”, to further promote domestic seafood consumption and export to international markets, as well as promoting tourism through various unique and attractive activities taking place during the festival, he added.
