Fi Vietnam 2026 to position Vietnam as ASEAN food ingredient hub
VOV.VN - Fi Vietnam 2026, an international exhibition on food ingredients, flavourings and additives, opened in Ho Chi Minh City on May 13, aiming to strengthen Vietnam’s position in the regional food and beverage supply chain.
The exhibition, the largest of its kind organised by Informa Markets Vietnam, with support from multiple domestic and international industry associations, is designed not only as a trade promotion platform but also as a regional hub for innovation, technology exchange and sourcing solutions in the ASEAN food industry.
This year’s exhibition has attracted more than 300 brands and around 9,000 industry professionals from over 40 countries and territories worldwide.
Pham Khanh Phong Lan, director of the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Department, noted the city’s food and beverage industry has expanded rapidly in recent years, contributing both to domestic consumption and export growth.
According to her, trade promotion events such as Fi Vietnam are helping businesses strengthen international partnerships, access new technologies and improve competitiveness in an increasingly demanding market.
“In a context where consumers are paying greater attention to product quality, food safety is no longer just a mandatory requirement but also a key factor determining corporate reputation and sustainable development,” she said.
Ly Kim Chi, president of the Ho Chi Minh City Food and Foodstuff Association, said Fi Vietnam has become more than a showcase for new technologies and solutions.
“It is also a starting point for ideas, formulas and trends that could shape the future of the food industry,” she said.
Ben Wong, general director of Informa Markets Vietnam, affirmed Vietnam is emerging as one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic growth markets thanks to strong economic expansion, a rapidly growing middle class and deeper integration into global trade networks.
According to him, Vietnam is gradually positioning itself not only as a promising consumer market but also as an important regional production and export hub for the food and beverage industry.
This year’s exhibition features international pavilions from Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, India and Thailand. Alongside natural ingredients, many exhibitors are showcasing solutions related to health ingredients, functional foods and next-generation beverage applications.
More than 60 conferences and specialised seminars are also being held throughout the three-day event, covering topics such as food safety, health supplements, functional ingredients, Halal food, plant-based diets and beverage trends.
The exhibition gives businesses and visitors chance to access many new technological solutions, from raw materials and additives to functional food and substitute products. It aims to build a sustainable food and beverage chain that meets the growing demands of the market. At the same time, it will contribute to making Vietnam a new food ingredient hub in Southeast Asia.
