Exports to Taiwanese market surge over 11-month period
VOV.VN - Vietnamese exports to Taiwan (China) grossed US$5.09 billion during the past 11 months of the year, up 18.6% on-year, according to data compiled by the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
This comes as the country exported 40 main products to this market, with one item reaching a turnover of over US$1 billion.
Specifically, Vietnamese computers, electronics, and component exports to the Taiwanese market soared by 28.1% on-year to reach US$1.19 billion compared to the figure of US$934 million recorded in the same period from last year.
Most notably, Vietnamese fertilizer exports to Taiwan (China) also posted an increase of 613%, rising from US$2.2 million last year to US$15.7 million this year.
Furthermore, the country raked in US$200 million from exporting iron and steel products to this market during the reviewed period, representing a sharp rise of 100% on-year.
Vietnam also earned US$177 million from exporting footwear to this market, up 5.7% on-year, while textile and garment exports edged up by 3.4% on-year to reach US$252 million.
Meanwhile, the nation earned US$386 million from exporting agricultural and aquatic products to Taiwan (China), up 4.3% on-year compared to the first 11 months of 2023.
Aquatic products took the lead in the group with US$149 million; followed by fruit and vegetables with US$141 million, up 8.1%; cashew nuts with US$36 million, up 12.7%; and tea with US$23.6 million, up 6.3%.
