Dubai Int’l Financial Centre urged to help Vietnam develop financial services
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has suggested that the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) co-operate with Vietnam in developing financial services and supporting the development of the HCM City Financial Centre.
PM Chinh’s suggestion was made during a reception given to Arif Amiri, chief executive officer of the DIFC Authority, on the afternoon of October 28 (local time) in Dubai as part of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE),
The Vietnamese cabinet leader noted his appreciation for the DIFC as one of the world’s leading financial centres, while also showing his positive impression at the strong development of the UAE, including Dubai.
In response, Amiri said he is impressed with Vietnamese socio-economic development achievements recorded over recent times. He therefore asked the Southeast Asian nation to boost the development of financial services in order to create a foundation for trade development and investment attraction.
He also affirmed his willingness to share experience in building a financial centre and collaborate alongside the Vietnamese side in the field of financial services. He added that he wishes to soon visit the nation, especially Ho Chi Minh City, in a bid to concretize the co-operation contents proposed by the Vietnamese Government chief.
On the same day, PM Chinh visited the Museum of the Future, which serves as a new symbol of Dubai city, with many exhibitions which help visitors imagine the world over the next 50 years.
He visited the exhibition halls simulating the space shuttle; futuristic technologies, costumes, and specimens; technology recreating the forest ecosystem in a realistic way; as well as the room storing 2,400 boxes containing specimens of many species of animals and plants on earth.
