Domestic oil, petrol prices rise slightly in latest adjustment

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have announced the latest fuel price adjustments, effective from 3:00 p.m. on September 4, with most oil and petrol products seeing modest increases.

Accordingly, RON95-III, the commonly used petrol locally, rose by VND70, now capped at VND20,430 per litre, while E5 RON 92 increased by VND80, to a maximum of VND19,850 per litre.

Oil prices also recorded notable increases. Diesel went up by VND120 to VND18,470 per litre, kerosene climbed by VND90 to VND18,310 per litre, and Mazut 180CST 3.5S saw a VND110 hike to VND15,370 per kilogramme.

In contrast, E10 biofuel dropped by VND10 to VND20,070 per litre.

Since the beginning of the year, domestic fuel prices have been adjusted 37 times, reflecting volatility in global markets. Among them, RON95-III and E5 RON 92 have seen 20 price increases and 17 decreases. E10 biofuel has been adjusted three times - twice up and once down.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, several global factors have contributed to the recent price adjustments. Key influences include the depreciation of the US dollar and continued geopolitical tensions, particularly the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

These developments have driven up global oil prices in recent days. The average price of RON95 petrol reached US$81.70 per barrel, up 0.5% compared to the previous week.
