Da Nang services revenue rises over 20% in nine months
VOV.VN - Revenue from accommodation and food services and other services in Da Nang rose by more than 20% in the first nine months of 2026, helping the central coastal city rank third among cities nationwide in GRDP growth.
During January-September period of 2026, Da Nang’s retail sales of goods increased by 14%, while revenue from accommodation and food services grew by 21.7% and revenue from other services climbed by 23.4%. Growth in all three categories exceeded the national average for their respective sectors.
Da Nang recorded the highest growth rates among cities in retail sales and accommodation and food services. In the other services category, Quang Ninh and Hue posted stronger growth, at 34.1% and 27.3%, respectively.
The city’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) was estimated to have expanded by 10.31% year on year from January to September 2026, with growth improving from 9.31% in the first quarter to 11.83% in the third quarter. The services sector was the largest contributor, accounting for more than half of overall GRDP growth and expanding by 12.39% in the third quarter alone.
Da Nang ranked third among centrally-governed cities in terms of GRDP growth in both the third quarter and the first nine months of the year. It also led the South-central coast region in the third quarter.
Le Ngoc Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, called on authorities at all levels and across sectors to intensify efforts to achieve a breakthrough and meet the city’s growth targets.
Tourism and services recently generated strong momentum, with visitor numbers and other key indicators showing positive trends. The city targets to achieve double-digit growth in services, specifically high double-digit growth, not merely low double-digit figures, Quang noted.
