Da Nang Port welcomes first 3 ships on lunar New Year’s Day

VOV.VN - First three container ships docked at Tien Sa port, part of Da Nang port complex, in central Vietnam, on February 12, the first day of the lunar New Year (Tet).

They were Vietnamese flagship Bien Dong (East Sea) TRAIDER and HAIANBELL, and SITC ZEHJIANH of Hong Kong.

Despite the impact of natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Da Nang port complex handled 11.4 million tonnes of goods, and it aims to load and unload 12.5 million tonnes this year.

Da Nang port is among the top 10 largest container handling ports in Vietnam and top 5 most prestigious logistics units in the port industry. In 2020, it put into use the container operation center to minimize the waiting time and reduce costs for clients.

The same day, Vietnam welcomed two foreign commercial vessels, STARSHIP URSA of Marshall Island and CMA CGM J. ADAMS of Malta, to ports in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau.
