Da Nang, Czech Republic step up co-operation in environment
VOV.VN - Da Nang is keen to enhance links with Czech firms in fields such as tourism, information technology, high-tech industry, innovative startups, especially in the environmental sphere, said Le Trung Chinh, chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee.
Chinh made the statement at a reception on September 11 for Minister of Environment of the Czech Republic Petr Hladik during his working visit to the central coastal city.
He revealed that the city is currently implementing a project aimed at turning Da Nang into an environmental city, with this scheme achieving major results in environmental protection and significantly contributing to the central city’s overall development.
Moving forward, Da Nang will focus on deploying the goal of developing a circular and green economy, low-carbon models, and striving to achieve sustainable development targets by 2030, he added.
Chinh expressed his hope that Minister Hladik will act as a bridge to help Czech investors gain greater insights into investment opportunities in environmental projects and other potential fields in the city, while also pledging to fully creating the optimal conditions possible for investors.
For his part, Minister Hladik stated his positive impression of Da Nang's modern infrastructure, while noting his desire to cooperate with Da Nang in the Czech Republic’s advantageous spheres such as information technology, renewable energy; plastic waste treatment, urban waste, as well as detoxifying polluted water sources.
He outlined his hope that the working visit will open up a wealth of co-operative opportunities among Czech and Vietnamese businesses, thereby further deepening the relationship between the two countries.
