Czech Republic’s exports to Vietnam surge 580.5% in July
The Czech Republic’s exports to Vietnam surged 580.5% to more than US$45.5 million in July from the previous month, much higher than the monthly average of US$7-10 million, according to the Czech Statistical Office.
The Vietnam Trade Office in the Czech Republic said during the month, the European country’s major exports to Vietnam included sound and image recording equipment and television sets worth about US$40.5 million.
Other exported products such as optical, movie and surgery equipment; glass and crystal, plastics, seedlings, pharmaceuticals, medicinal herbs and industrial plants maintained growth or fell slightly.
In the seven months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of audio-visual equipment to the Czech Republic neared US$202 million, followed by footwear and similar products worth more than US$141 million.
Shipments of rubber, inorganic chemical compound, leather, garment accessories, apparel, mechanical equipment, wooden furniture reached between US$9-48 million.
By the end of July, two-way trade rose by 18.1% to about US$681 million, which is forecast to top US$1 billion this year.
