Czech PM Fiala inspects Skoda Auto project in Quang Ninh
VOV.VN - Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala on April 22 made a fact-finding tour of Skoda Auto assembly line in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
The plant located at Viet Hung industrial park is a joint venture project between Skoda Auto, the leading carmaker of the Czech Republic, and TC Group of Vietnam. The plant is scheduled to market and export its first vehicles this year.
Fiala hailed the joint cooperation project between the two firms and said that the Czech Republic always attaches great importance to cooperative relations with Vietnam, a gateway to potential ASEAN market.
The Czech Republic creates conditions for related parties to connect, seek opportunities and strengthen economic cooperation, to maximize potential, he said.
He expected that the joint project between Skoda Auto and TC Group would be deployed smoothly, effectively and on schedule, to bring the long-standing Czech car brand to Vietnam soon.
Cao Tuong Huy, acting head of the provincial administration, expressed hope that Fiala would continue to encourage more Czech firms to cooperate and invest in Quang Ninh, especially in information technology, processing and manufacturing, tourism, commerce, and seaport infrastructure.
Quang Ninh is committed to supporting the Skoda Auto project to be implemented in the most convenient way, to make it a symbol of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, Tuong said.
