Cyber Friday hopes to outperform Black Friday

(VOV) - The Vietnam E-Commerce and Information Technology Agency is hoping that the second edition of ‘Cyber Friday’ (December 4) will be the biggest online day for shoppers ever.

So far the agency revealed roughly 1,868 retailers have signed up some 46,525 products for sale during the one-day shopping spree.

Brand names the likes of Adayroi, Thegioididong, Lazada, Zalora, Lingo, Tiki, Deca, Nguyen Kim, will offer huge discounts and special pricing on tens of thousands of items from fashion, books, to tourism and home appliances to name just a few.

The goal of ‘Cyber Friday’ is to engrain the day in the minds of enough shoppers to make it the top online spending day of the year.

The organizing board is hoping for 15-20 million hits on its website http://onlinefriday.vn/.

Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) is generally held up as the ultimate shopping day around the globe, but Cyber Friday, aka ‘Online Friday’ deals add their fair share to the mix.
