Consumers willing to pay more for foreign fruit
VOV.VN - Retailers in Ho Chi Minh City report that consumers have been willing to pay more for imported foreign fruit over the TET holiday due to concerns about the quality and freshness of locally grown produce.

A shop owner in District 1 reports selling 20-30kg of grapefruit from Japan every two days at a median price of US$34 per kilogram even though the price of the fruit from Ninh Thuan is only US$3.9. |

The same shop’s sales of yellow dragon fruit from Malaysia is strong at US$30 per kilogram. Even though locally grown dragon fruit sells for much less, it has been passed over by customers during TET. |
