Conference promotes Vietnam-China business connectivity
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China (MARA) and Vietnam’s Consulate General in Shanghai on November 5 hosted a conference to enhance connectivity between Vietnamese and Chinese businesses.
China has become an important market for Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fishery products with two-way trade turnover seeing a significant increase over recent years and the trend is projected to continue in the coming years.
The two-way trade turnover of agro-forestry-fishery products reached US$11.3 billion in 2017 and US$8.16 billion for the first nine months of the year.
Minister Cuong said Vietnam has worked with China’s relevant ministries including the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China and MARA to recognize regulatory systems of each side on both quality control and quarantine formalities. These changes will continue to facilitate import-export activities between the two countries via official channels and bolster the export of products such as fruit and vegetables, cashew nuts, cassavas, wooden products, coffee, seafood, milk, pork and beef.
The minister affirmed that to boost extensive international integration, Vietnam will go ahead with the improvement of its investment climate to accommodate foreign businesses’ operations including those of Chinese businesses which will continue to pour investment into the agricultural field in Vietnam.
Businesses from both countries used the occasion to introduced goods that match their strengths and have also discussed opportunities for future cooperation..
