Central Retail expands nationwide distribution of Bac Ninh lychees

VOV.VN - Central Retail Vietnam on May 28 launched shipments of Luc Ngan lychees from northern Bac Ninh province to its nationwide retail chains, including GO!, Tops Market and mini go!.

Olivier Langlet, CEO of Central Retail Vietnam, said the group has supported the promotion and distribution of Bac Ninh lychees since its early years in Vietnam.

Although lychee output has fallen considerably this year, product quality has improved markedly in both appearance and flavour, he said.

Central Retail’s retail systems, including GO!, Tops Market and mini go!, will mobilise resources to expand the distribution of high-quality Bac Ninh lychees to consumers nationwide through promotional campaigns and marketing activities. The group targets doubling lychee sales compared with the previous season.

On June 4, Central Retail will coordinate with relevant agencies to organise the fifth Vietnamese Fruit Week at GO! My Tho shopping centre in Dong Thap province.

GO!, Tops Market and mini go! supermarkets will prioritise prominent display areas for Bac Ninh lychees while also expanding online sales channels to make it easier for consumers to access and purchase the fruit.

This year, Central Retail is also continuing efforts to export Bac Ninh lychees to the Thai market.

The group’s purchasing teams in Vietnam and Thailand are coordinating to support the export process more effectively.

Langlet said Central Retail plans to expand its commercial centre and supermarket network in Bac Ninh in the coming period in order to help modernise the retail sector, create jobs and support local farmers and businesses in bringing products into the group’s distribution system.

According to Central Retail, the expansion of modern retail infrastructure will help stimulate domestic consumption, improve services and create jobs, while supporting broader and more sustainable market access for agricultural products, local specialties and One Commune One Product (OCOP) goods from Bac Ninh and other localities nationwide.

Earlier, on April 28, Central Retail signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bac Ninh province on lychee distribution for the 2026 season.

Under the MoU, the group’s retail systems will mobilise logistics capacity and marketing resources to promote and distribute Bac Ninh lychees nationwide, contributing to the success of this year’s harvest season.

Central Retail also joined Bac Ninh in launching container shipments transporting local lychees to the GO!, Tops Market and mini go! retail systems across the country.
