Car imports hit record high in August

VOV.VN - The country spent a total of US$385.41 million on importing approximately 18,279 completely built-up (CBU) automobiles in August, with the figure reaching the highest number ever recorded.

According to details given by the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the statistic represents an increase of 80% in volume and 76% in value in comparison to August last year.

The first eight months the year has seen the country spend a total of US$2.25 billion on buying a total of 96,239 cars from abroad, marking a decline of 8.9% in volume and 4% against the same period from 2021.

In terms of the region, Indonesia leads the way in terms of import markets with 10,360 vehicles.
