A number of symposiums will also be held to introduce effective production models, orientations, and solutions aimed at achieving sustainable shrimp farming.
VietShrimp was first organised in 2016 and has been held biennially since. Themed “Innovative value chain upgrading”, VietShrimp 2023 helps to introduce new technologies, advanced models, and connect production and consumption, in order to increase product quality and promote Vietnamese shrimp in the world market.
Shrimp is one of Vietnam’s key export items playing a very important role in the development of the seafood industry and the Vietnamese economy, helping to create million jobs.
Last year local businesses earned US$4.3 billion from shrimp export, up 11.2% compared to 2021.
Vietnam aims to have 750,000 hectares of shrimp farms and generate more than US$4.3 billion worth of shrimp export this year.
