Buidl Vietnam 2023 opens up investment opportunities

Buidl Vietnam 2023, the country's leading community festival for web3 builders and founders, is underway in Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to foster a healthy and sustainable blockchain community, introduce and connect capable developers to the blockchain ecosystem in Vietnam.

Co-hosted by Krypto Vietnam and Krypto Seoul, the two-day event drew 70 speakers who are executives and founders of blockchain unicorns. They will present, discuss and offer solutions for infrastructure development, human resources quality and policy implications for Vietnam.

Buidl Vietnam 2023 will feature presentations, workshops, technology exhibitions and a hackathon for builders with awards totalling VND1.5 billion (US$64,000).

According to Erica Kang, co-founder of KryptoSeoul, this year Vietnam will still prove its attractiveness in the field of technology development and talent training in the blockchain and web3 industry.

Many international companies, projects, and speakers have registered to come to Vietnam to explore opportunities for cooperation, investment, human resources recruitment and brand promotion, she added.

Vietnam currently has more than 200 blockchain projects operating in many fields such as GameFi, DeFi and NFT, web3, infrastructure and wallets. The country has over 10 enterprises with market capitalisation at more than US$100 million.

According to a forecast by MarketsandMarkets, the blockchain-related market in Vietnam can reach a value of nearly US$2.5 billion by 2026, a five-fold increase from 2021.

Nocole Nguyen, a co-founder of Apac Dao - a community of web3 projects, said that Vietnam is considered the region's leading attractive technology convergence centre, especially with emerging technologies such as blockchain and web3.

They want to make Buidl Vietnam a festival for founders, product developers and technology enthusiasts who want to start building applications that are practical and highly innovative, she said, adding that this is also an opportunity for Vietnam to become an attractive destination and a technology cradle of the region.

Founded in 2018, KryptoSeoul looks to support global blockchain projects via holding online events and activities. In 2021, it established the KryptoVietnam community to build a community of coders and product developers in Vietnam.
