British sports car brand Lotus to enter Vietnam market
VOV.VN - After nearly two years of anticipation, the sports car brand Lotus is preparing to enter the Vietnamese automobile market, following the recent signing of an agreement between Lotus and Tasco Auto.

Tasco Auto, the largest automotive distributor in Vietnam, confirmed on its website that the company has signed an agreement to become the official distributor of Lotus in the country.
This partnership is part of Lotus’s strategy to expand its operation in Southeast Asia, while also reflecting Tasco Auto’s direction of offering a diverse portfolio of automobile brands to Vietnamese customers.
In fact, speculation about Lotus’s entry into Vietnam first surfaced in 2023 when the company announced its expansion strategy in the Asia-Pacific region. The brand has already established a presence in Malaysia and Thailand.
Founded in the United Kingdom more than 70 years ago, Lotus is known for its high-performance cars, advanced technology, aerodynamic designs, and lightweight engineering.
Currently, Lotus is owned by China’s Geely Group, which officially entered Vietnam earlier this year, and Tasco Auto was also its distributor.
With the addition of Lotus, Tasco Auto now distributes five Geely-owned brands in Vietnam, namely Volvo, Lynk & Co, Geely, Zeekr, and Lotus.
Although Lotus is a well-established name in the global sports car scene, it remains relatively unfamiliar to most Vietnamese consumers. In the past, a few Lotus models such as the Evora GT, Exige Sport 420 Final Edition, and Elise S2 were imported privately into Vietnam in limited numbers.
It is unclear which models Lotus will officially introduce to the Vietnamese market. Internationally, the company currently sells four models - Evija, Emira, Emeya, and Eletre.
