Bamboo Airways raises charter capital to VND16 trillion
VOV.VN - Bamboo Airways has increased its charter capital by 28% to VND16 trillion, equivalent to US$695 million, thereby surpassing Vietnam Airlines to have the highest level of capital in the industry.
The latest rise marks the airline’s seventh hike since its establishment back in May 2017, when it launched with charter capital of VND700 billion.
Trinh Van Quyet, chairman of Bamboo Airways, said this month that the firm is currently in the process of considering an initial public offering (IPO) of shares in the United States at some time this year as part of efforts to raise an additional US$200 million.
He added that the company is also poised to offer a stake of between 5% and 7% in the company ahead in the third quarter.
Bamboo Airways also intends to expand its fleet from 30 to 40 aircraft later this year.
Other plans include efforts to increase their market share to 30% this year. Last year saw Bamboo Airways carry over seven million passengers, accounting for a 20% market share.
