Bac Ninh attracts additional US$856 million in investment capital

VOV.VN - The northern province of bac Ninh has secured more than US$856 million in additional investment capital, underlining its strong commitment to improving the local investment climate and supporting business growth.

The announcement was made during a meeting held on May 12 with private science and technology enterprises operating in the province.

The additional capital was injected into the Gilimex Bac Ninh Industrial Park Co., Ltd.; the Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation - JSC; H2T Bac Ninh Co., Ltd.; Samsung Display Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Fushan Technology (Vietnam) Co., Ltd.; Investor JIAZE HOLDING limited (Hong Kong, China); and Investor Amphenol Holding SG.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung praised the local private business community for its contributions to provincial development.

He emphasised the global context of rapid change, noting the restructuring of global value chains and the shifting of foreign direct investment (FDI) trends toward digital transformation, science and technology, and innovation.

Increasing attention is also being paid to green economic sectors, including renewable energy, as well as investment safety and stability in the face of rising international competition, he said

The Deputy PM urged Bac Ninh to intensify its focus on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, while fostering stronger linkages between domestic private enterprises and FDI firms, as well as integrating into the national innovation ecosystem.

He also stressed the importance of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and encouraging their deeper integration into global value chains by upgrading operational models.

In the first four months of 2025, Bac Ninh attracted over US$2.4 billion in investment, including US$1.9 billion in FDI and US$470.44 million in domestic capital, making it the leading province in Vietnam for FDI attraction during the period.
