Australia’s imports of Vietnamese fruit and vegetables on the rise
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s exports of processed fruit and vegetables ballooned by 79.5% during the first half of this year, according to the International Trade Centre (ITC).
The ITC reported that processed fruit and vegetables are among Australia’s major imports. Therefore, in addition to boosting exports of fresh fruit to the country, greater attention should be paid to processed fruit to increase their share of the fruit and vegetable exports finding their way into the Australian market.
According to statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the country’s fruit and vegetable exports reached US$362.8 million in August, a year-on-year rise of 13.1%, bringing the total value of exports in the eight months to US$2.7 billion, up 14.8%.
The main importers of Vietnamese products were China, the US and the Republic of Korea.
It’s noteworthy that exports to Thailand and Australia saw impressive growth over the first 8 months of the year.
