American businesses eye long-term growth in Vietnam market
VOV.VN - At a meeting with President Luong Cuong in New York, USA, on September 23, representatives of leading American corporations expressed confidence in Vietnam’s development prospects, and reaffirmed their long-term commitment to strengthening cooperation and increasing investment, pledging to accompany Vietnam in its new stage of development.

Representatives from Amazon, Meta, Amway, Excelerate Energy, Warburg Pincus, Vantive, Excel Services Corporation, Atlas Air, among others, highlighted Vietnam as one of the fastest-growing e-commerce markets in the region.
They commended Vietnam’s improving investment climate, a rapidly expanding middle class, and its extensive FTA network, and affirmed plans to expand long-term presence and larger-scale investments in multiple fields ranging from digitalisation, energy, infrastructure, and finance to healthcare and education.
Addressing the US businesses, President Cuong stressed that after nearly 40 years of implementing the Đổi Mới (Renovation) process, Vietnam has transformed into one of the world’s top 32 economies, ranking among the top 20 in global trade, with a network of 17 new-generation FTAs linking over 60 economies.
He underscored that economic, trade, and investment cooperation remain a key pillar in Vietnam–US relations, with bilateral trade reaching nearly US$140 billion in 2024, alongside the effective presence of leading US corporations in Vietnam.
The President noted Vietnam’s long-term goal of becoming a high-income developed economy by 2045, driven by three strategic breakthroughs in institutional reform, human capital, and infrastructure development.
He called on US enterprises to expand large-scale, long-term investments in high technology, innovation, digital transformation, green energy, and the circular economy. He also assured the US corporation that Vietnam create the most favourable conditions for American investors to confidently choose Vietnam as a long-term destination and a partner in building a prosperous and sustainable future.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the High Level General Debate of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA-80) in New York.
