AEON Group continues to look for suppliers in Vietnam
VOV.VN - Amid rising demand for Vietnamese agricultural products and processed foods, AEON TopValu will continue to mobilise a large number of purchasers in its supply chain within Vietnam in an effort to seek suppliers at the Vietnam International Sourcing 2024.
This statement was made by Shiotani Yuichiro, general director of Aeon TopValu Vietnam, at a recent working session held alongside representatives of the European - American Market Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The AEON representative revealed that the group has high expectations at the event which is slated to run from June 6 to 8 in Ho Chi Minh City, noting that Aeon TopValu is seeking suppliers for its supermarket chain in China, Thailand, and Malaysia.
He said AEON group will also continue to co-ordinate efforts with the Ministry of Industry and Trade in organising the Vietnamese Goods Week in Japan this year, which is expected to create a wealth of opportunities for Vietnamese goods to gain entry to the most demanding market in Asia.
AEON is keen to find partners in the fields of agricultural products, frozen and processed foods, especially Vietnamese suppliers that are capable of meeting the group's stringent standards to become sustainable partners, not only in Vietnam, but also in its global chain.
Vietnam is the most important market for AEON group outside of Japan as it strives to implement its long-term business strategy.
In the medium term to 2025, the group aims to develop a network of 15 shopping malls, 100 small and medium-sized Aeon MaxValu supermarkets in Hanoi, whilst continuing to launch a chain of specialised stores, including Glam Beautique, Petemo, and Aeon Bicycle in Vietnam.
By 2030, AEON plans to own 30 shopping malls, department stores, and supermarkets, with the majority located in big cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Da Nang, Hai Phong, and other provinces nationwide.
