95% of businesses at HCM City's industrial parks resume operations
VOV.VN - A total of 95% of businesses based in industrial parks (IPs) and export processing zones (EPZs) in Ho Chi Minh City have resumed production, according to the southern city’s Department of Industry and Trade.
Upon addressing a recent press conference of the HCM City Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngoc, deputy director of the municipal Department of Industry and Trade, noted that as of November 1, more than 1,340 enterprises with 216,000 workers at IPs and EPZs have registered to resume operation, reaching 95% of capacity.
Furthermore, 145,000 employees from all enterprises based in high-tech zones or 84% came back, while 6,500 enterprises outside of IPs and EPZs returned to work.
Concerning the fact that many businesses in HCM City are facing plenty of difficulties in applying the three on-site working model, Kim Ngoc stated that the city has issued a range of proper regulations on pandemic prevention and control for enforcement at each stage of the pandemic containment efforts in line with the real situation at production facilities. This will help local businesses be able to come up with suitable plans which can ensure safe production and anti-pandemic measures, she added.
