15 Vietnamese firms attend UK's largest outdoor furniture fair

VOV.VN - As many as 15 Vietnamese enterprises introduced their products at the UK Outdoor Furniture trade show (Source Garden) in Birmingham from September 10 to 12, hoping to strengthen connectivity with thousands of British and European retailers.

On display were a wide range of wood products in the fields of outdoor entertaining and garden decoration, as well as tooling items from local enterprises such as Pisico, Thien Tam, Hoan Cau, Binh Phu, Dang Thanh, Bamboo King Vina, Thien Bac, Woodsland, Binh Nguyen, Artex Nam An, and Hoang Hung.

Hoang Le Hang, first secretary of the Vietnam Trade Office in the UK, emphasised that the event has opened up a wealth of opportunities for Vietnamese firms to popularize their brands in the international market.

Hang recommended that Vietnamese enterprises strive to take full advantage of the recent rising demand for outdoor entertaining and garden decorations in the UK and gain greater insights into consumer tastes and market regulations in a bid to boost exports to the market.

Suzanne Ellingham, source director of the expo, expressed her delight at Vietnam’s first-ever participation in the fair, noting that with its reputation for high-quality indoor and outdoor wooden furniture, the country is considered to be one of the major potential suppliers of the products to buyers in the UK, especially in the field of outdoor entertaining.

She said that the largest distributors in the UK are now looking to expand their operations in emerging markets, and Vietnamese businesses can seize upon the opportunity to build long-term partnerships with British companies.

According to 2023 data compiled by the UK Office for National Statistics, Vietnam makes up the UK's fifth largest supplier of wooden handicrafts after China, Italy, Poland, and Germany.

In the first seven months of this year, Vietnamese exports of timber and wooden products to the UK reached US$124.8 million, up 17.8% year on year.
