100 local firms selected to join Vietnam National Pavilion on Alibaba.com

VOV.VN - A conference was held on November 28 in Hanoi by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency to unveil a programme aimed at selecting typical businesses to participate in the Vietnam National Pavilion on Alibaba.com website.

The event officially opened registration for the Vietnam National Pavilion Program on the e-commerce platform Alibaba.com, a global business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce platform of Alibaba Group.

This marks the first milestone in the journey of selecting 100 excellent Vietnamese businesses to participate in the online pavilion. The registration period for SMEs will begin from November 28 and run to January 15, 2024.

The scheme is aimed at promoting the diversity of Made in Vietnam products, while also enhancing the reputation of Vietnamese businesses and brands, thereby raising awareness of high-quality Vietnamese products operating within the global market.

Furthermore, it is also designed to enhance international trade activities and to help global customers gain greater insights into Vietnamese products and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Vu Ba Phu, director of the Department of Trade Promotion, emphazised that co-operation with Alibaba.com will provide SMEs with the opportunity to gain entry into the global market, thereby helping local firms to access trade promotion methods in the new digital environment, as well as to maintain their sustainable success in the context of global economic uncertainties.

For his part, Mike Zhang, country director of Alibaba Vietnam, stated that the Vietnamese economy will recover faster ahead in the third quarter with GDP growing by 5.33% against the same period from last year.

Many large financial institutions have made positive evaluations on the country’s growth rate for this year and ahead to 2024.

Therefore, e-commerce and digital transformation has significantly helped Vietnamese SMEs to bounce back moving into the post COVID-19 period, he stressed.

He noted that e-commerce represents a strong growth field, adding that Alibaba.com is helping Vietnamese businesses to gain greater access to business activities more effectively.

With solid support from the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and local partners operating in the country, Alibaba.com is committed to contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnamese SMEs moving forward, he said.
