Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has hailed coastal Duc Trach commune in the central province of Quang Binh for its achievements in new rural development and recovery from the marine pollution incident last year. 

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on August 23 chaired the first meeting of the Central Steering Committee on Defence Zones, which aimed to review the performance of the committee in building and operating defence zones in 2016 and the first six months of 2017.

The Government convened a meeting on law making on August 22, during which Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said many laws still hamper each other.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc offered incense to late President Ho Chi Minh at the Da Chong (K9) historical relic site in Ba Vi District on August 20, on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of August Revolution and National Day and the 48th death anniversary of the late leader. 

The southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City is building particular policies to achieve more rapid and sustainable growth in the future.

Ho Thi Kim Thoa was dismissed from the position of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade under a decision issued by the Prime Minister on August 16.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has signed the first-ever regulations on specific standards and assessment criteria for officials under the management of the Party Central Committee, Politburo and Secretariat.
