Youth Union’s 10th Central Committee makes its debut
(VOV) - The Youth Union’s 10th Central Committee comprises 151 members, including 33 from the Standing Committee and 7 from the Secretariat.
The 10th National Youth Union Congress closed in Hanoi on December 14 after four days of sitting, ratifying important documents such as the Union’s 9th Central Committee’s report, a review report of the Union’s Central Committee for the 2007–2012 term, and revised union regulations.
Nguyen Dac Vinh was reelected the First Secretary of the Union’s Central Committee. In his speech at the closing ceremony, Vinh said the 10th Youth National Congress demonstrated youth’s aspirations, their iron-strong will, their solidarity, creativity, and devotion, and their contributions to the national industrialisation and modernisation processes.
Vinh also underscored the need to renew the union’s activities, intensify revolutionary ideology and virtuous lifestyle education, and launch movements encouraging young people to practice self-improvement and contribute more to the nation.
The success of the 10th National Congress provides the necessary motivation to youth union members across the country entering a new term replete with both opportunities and challenges. Successfully implementing the congress’s resolution will require the maximum efforts of all youth union members in every unit and locality, Vinh said.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung bestowed the State President’s Order of Labour (Third Class) on a number of outstanding youth union secretaries to mark the occasion.
Dac Vinh, the newly reelected Secretary of the Youth Union, announced the results of the congress at a press briefing on the same day.
