Third working day of 14th NA first session
The third working day in the first session of the 14th National Assembly (NA) on July 22 began with the announcement of the results of the election of the NA Chairperson, Vice Chairpersons and the NA Standing Committee members.
The newly elected NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan took her oath and delivered an inaugural address.
After that, she submitted a proposal on the candidates for the head of the NA Council for Ethnic Affairs and the NA committees, the NA Secretary General, and the State Auditor General.

Their opinions were summed up in a report delivered by NA Secretary General Nguyen Hanh Phuc in the afternoon, followed by a report presented by NA Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong explaining about the personnel proposal.
The deputies cast secret ballots on the positions after approving the lists of candidates.
After the voting results were released, the lawmakers ratified resolutions on the election of the chairpersons of the NA Council for Ethnic Affairs and the NA committees, the NA Secretary General, and the State Auditor General.
The NA will resume working on July 25. The deputies are set to mull over the proposal of candidate for the President and then elect the President in a secret ballot.
The NA is also scheduled to discuss a draft programme on the parliament’s supervisory activities for 2017 and the organisation of the Government during the day.
