State President praises people’s police force

State President Truong Tan Sang has hailed police chiefs and officers for their outstanding achievements in the emulation campaign “People’s police study and follow late President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings”.

At a ceremony in Hanoi on June 4 to commemorate 65 years since the people’s police force first followed President Ho’s six teachings and his appeal for a patriotic emulation movement, Sang stressed that the Party, State and people appreciate loyalty, sacrifices and great contributions made by generations of police during the national revolutionary cause.

He asked the police force to make the campaign “Studying and Following President Ho’s six teachings” a core part of their regular Party activities in the time to come.

He asked them to further Party building activities, fight the degradation of political thought, morals and lifestyles, bureaucracy, corruption and wastefulness among cadres, Party members and officers of the people’s police force.

President Sang urged the police force to work closely with relevant agencies and sectors to encourage all people to support the campaign and help ensure social security and order in the new situation.

The leader expressed his belief that the police will continue to lead the patriotic emulation movement and successfully fulfill their assigned tasks.

Over the past 65 years, more than 90 individuals and collectives have been honoured with Gold Star and Ho Chi Minh Orders. Hundreds were also awarded with the titles Hero of the People's Armed Forces and Hero of Labour, not to mention tens of thousands of other medals and orders also awarded.
