Senior leaders meet Hanoi NA deputies

(VOV) -A meeting of Hanoi National Assembly deputies was held on January 3 on the occasion of 70th anniversary of the first General Election of Vietnamese National Assembly.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung were among the attendees.

NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung expressed his thank to veteran NA deputies for their great contribution to laying the first foundation for the legislative body's operation in the early days.


The top legislator said over the past years, the municipal National Assembly deputies have successfully fulfilled their tasks. He expressed his hope that the deputies would continue to contribute to building and developing the capital city.  

Over the past seven decades with 13 tenures, the law-making body enhanced its role and position as the people’s highest representative agency and the country’s most powerful body in line with the Constitution and the law, greatly contributing to national liberation, reunification, construction and defence.

During the 2011-2016 term, Hanoi was among the two centrally-run localities with the highest number of NA deputies.

Over the past five years, the capital’s NA deputies have significantly contributed to the country’s legislative development.
