Religious dignitaries pay Tet visit to VFF

(VOV) - A Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) delegation visited and extended Lunar New Year (Tet) wishes to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) on January 22.

At the meeting, VFFCC Vice President and General Secretary Vu Trong Kim spoke highly of the VBS contribution to promoting national construction and development, building a healthy cultural lifestylein residential areas and helping those in need.

He expressed hope the VBS will continue to closely work with the VFFCC to  encourage monks, nuns and Buddhist followers to take part in national emulation movements, charity and poverty reduction programs.

The Vice President of the VBS Executive Council, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, affirmed the VBS and its monks, nuns and followers will endeavour to become actively involved in movements and campaigns supporting national development.

The VFFCC also received a delegation of the Episcopal Council of the Catholic Church of Vietnam, led by Archbishop Bui Van Doc, in Hanoi on January 22 in the lead up to the Tet holiday.

Kim spoke highly of Catholics’ contributions to national development and expressed hope they will continue to stand side by side with the nation to build a prosperous Vietnam.

Doc thanked the Party and State for their recognition of the council’s activities, pledging Catholics will continue to unite to develop the nation and promote good life and good religion.
