President Quang pays pre-Tet visit to Gia Lai

VOV.VN - President Tran Dai Quang extended Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings to locals and soldiers in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai during his working trip on February 1.

Vising the Army Corps No.3, the State leader hailed the efforts of the High Command of Army Corps No.3 over the past 43 years and
 asked officers and soldiers to promptly and effectively deal with any emerging incident so as to help maintain political security, social order and safety, alongside national sovereignty and border security.

 “You should reinforce friendship and cooperation with Cambodia in order to protect our border and at the same time build a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development in line with the Vietnamese Party and State’s unwavering policy,” he said.

Quang asked the Army Corps No.3 to partner with departments and agencies to urge the people to comply with Party guidelines, and State laws and policies; offer support in poverty reduction, socio-economic and cultural development and disaster prevention. 

Visiting residents in the border commune of Ia Dom in Duc Co district,he  showed his delight at the commune’s development, with a consolidated political system, reduced poverty rates, and more efficient health care and education. To mark the occasion, President Quang presented Tet gifts to 100 policy beneficiaries and poor households in the commune.

The same day, the President also visited workers of the Mang Yang Rubber Company in Dak Oa district and attended a Tet program organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. President Quang presented gifts to 200 disadvantaged workers.

His visit was made on the occasion of the 88th Party founding anniversary (February 3) and the 50th anniversary of the General Tet Offensive in lead-up to the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet).
