Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired an irregular meeting with Cabinet members to consider and address requests made by businesses during the freshly-concluded dialogue with the Government leader in Hanoi on April 29.
Production and business costs, inspections of businesses and investment in agriculture and rural areas were also among problems of great concern.
Ministries and sectors pledged to swiftly address the petitions to create favourable conditions for production and business activities, while implementing specific action programmes to untie difficulties for enterprises.
They reached a consensus on the necessity to build a Government resolution on business development with a target of at least 1 million enterprises by 2020.
Speaking at the meeting, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked ministers, sector heads, and Chairpersons of local People’s Committees to renew their thinking and working methods, and focus on addressing difficulties for businesses in order to achieve set socio-economic development goals.
He required ministers and sector heads to handle businesses’ petitions in the spirit of innovation.
“We must respect enterprises and answer the petitions thoroughly,” the PM stressed.
He asked for clear decentralisation at the central and local levels, saying that it is a step in the direction of building a Government that designs development, builds institutions and inspects and supervises the enforcement of policies.
The Government leader also asked ministries, sectors and localities to work out agricultural and rural development policies to serve equitable agricultural development and the building of new-style rural areas.
At the same time, he called on the business community to strive to rise over difficulties by themselves while enhancing their social responsibility and business ethics.
