Party official congratulates Catholics, Protestants on Easter

Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai on April 10 extended greetings to Catholic and Protestant dignitaries and followers in Ho Chi Minh City on the upcoming Easter holiday.

During her visit to Archbishop of the Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese Bui Van Doc, and Pastor Phan Vinh Cu, President of the General Confederation of Evangelical Churches of Vietnam (Southern), the official reiterated the consistent policy of the Party and State to respect and ensure the legitimate right to freedom of belief and religion. 

She recognised and praised the role of Archbishop Bui Van Doc in calling on and directing local parishioners to work closely with the municipal authorities, and people from all walks of life to promote the city’s socio-economic development. 
She expressed her hope that the Archdiocese along with other Catholic dignitaries and followers will continue participating in patriotic movements, thus actively contributing to the nation’s development. 

Archbishop Bui Van Doc promised to continuously encourage parishioners to abide by legal regulations, and join hands in consolidating the national great unity bloc. 

Meanwhile, Pastor Phan Vinh Cu thanked the Party and State for facilitating the formation of local chapters of the confederation, affirming local Protestants will work hard to make more contributions to the national construction and defence cause.
