Party Central Committee convenes 13th plenum

(VOV) -Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong delivered a key-note speech at the 13th plenum of the 11th Party Central Committee underway in Hanoi from December 14-22.

In his remarks, the Party leader said the meeting is of prime importance, directly related to preparations and successful organization of the forthcoming 12th National Party Congress.

The agenda is focused on opinion contributions from Party congresses at all levels, National Assembly (NA) deputies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), mass organizations, cadres, Party members, and people to the draft documents for submission to the 12th National Party Congress.

The meeting will review the implementation of the resolution adopted at the 4th plenum of the Party Central Committee on party building, personnel to the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Party Central Inspection Commission. It will also consider draft regulations on election to the 12th National Party Congress and some other important issues.

The Party Chief underscored the importance of personnel work, noting that at this plenum, the Politburo will report the Party Central Committee on personnel plans.

On the first working day, politburo member Dinh The Huynh read the politburo’s report on opinions contributed by people from all walks of life to the draft political report of the 12th National Party Congress.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung read a report approving the politburo’s explanations on contributions to the draft report on socio-economic development directions until 2020.
