Nguyen Van Duoc re-elected VWVA chairman

Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Duoc was re-elected Chairman of the Vietnam War Veterans’ Association (VWVA) for the sixth tenure, 2017-2022, on December 14.

The association’s sixth national congress, which opened in Hanoi the same day, elected 98 members of the VWVA Central Committee in the sixth tenure.

Later, the new VWVA Central Committee convened its first meeting, choosing 22 members for its standing board.

While Nguyen Van Duoc was re-elected Chairman of the VWVA, Nguyen Van Dao, Nguyen Song Phi and Nguyen Van Chuong were chosen vice chairmen of the association.

The VWVA is a political-social organisation that is a member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. It gathers more than 3 million members nationwide.
