NA Standing Committee's 19th session opens in Hanoi

VOV.VN -  The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on December 11 convened its 19th session in Hanoi reviewing outcomes of the fourth meeting of the 14th NA and discuss preparations for the next meeting. 

The committee will consider the adjustment of the investment plan on housing support to people with revolutionary contributions during 2016-2020, and the plans on Government bond capital during 2012-2015 and 2014-2016 periods. 

Lawmakers will also discuss the compensation work of projects to upgrade and expand the National Highway 1- section from the central province of Thanh Hoa to the Mekong Delta province of Can Tho, and a section of Ho Chi Minh road crossing the Central Highlands. 

NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said legislators will  review external activities and international cooperation in 2017 and mull over a report on results of the supervision of the issuance of resolutions and operation of centrally-run municipal and provincial People’s Councils. 

NA deputies are expected to adopt the committee’s programme for external affairs next year and give opinions on external activities and international cooperation of the Ethnic Council, committees, friendship parliamentarians’ groups, agencies of the Standing Committee of the NA, the State Audit Office of Vietnam and the NA Office. 

The committee is destined to ratify a proposal on the appointment of Vietnamese ambassadors to a number of countries for 2017-2020.
