NA Standing Committee opens 4th session
VOV.VN - The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on October 3 opened its 4th session in Hanoi to prepare for the 2nd session of the National Assembly scheduled for October 20.
During the 11-day session, the NA Sanding Committee will comment on the 2015 Criminal Law, the revised draft Law on corruption prevention, and Law on planning.
Lawmakers will listen to reports from the government, the People’s Supreme Court, and the Supreme Procucary on the settlement of people’s complaints and petitions.
The Committee will also give feedback on the government’s report on the implementation of the socio-economic and budget plan for 2016 and a plan on socio-economic development, budget estimates, and budget allocation for 2017.
The same day, NA deputies discussed the draft law on the amendments and supplements to some articles of the Criminal Code.
The Criminal Code adopted on November 27, 2015 during the 13th National Assembly’s 10th session, became effective from July 1, 2016.
The NA Standing committee has asked the NA Law Committee to work with the Ministries of Justice and Public Security as well as the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuracy to review the law and propose solutions to deal with mistakes arising from the implementation process.
