NA announces confidence vote results

A total of 492 NA deputies cast ballots on June 10, expressing their high-, medium-, and low confidence in the 49 officials.

Vice Chairwoman of the legislature Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan received the highest number of confidence votes (372-104-14).

She was followed by State President Truong Tan Sang (330-133-28) and NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung (328-130-25).

The corresponding high-medium-low confidence votes for Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung were 210-122-160.

This is the first time the National Assembly has conducted such a confidence motion to assess the capacity of ranking officials elected or ratified by the legislature itself. The move aims to build a strong and healthy State apparatus.

The vote of confidence will also be conducted for members of the People's Councils and People's Committees at mid-year meetings of the 63 municipal and provincial People’s Councils across the country.
