Legislature to pass important bills
(VOV) - A number of key bills, including those on counterterrorism, natural disaster mitigation, and grassroots reconciliation, are scheduled to be approved at the National Assembly’s 5th session which opened in Hanoi on May 20.
Other bills to be approved are the revised Land Law, revised Science and Technology Law, revised Residence Law, revised Incorporate Income Tax Law, revised Value Added Tax Law, and revised Enterprise Law.
National Assembly deputies will give opinions on national Constitution amendments, a bill on receiving people, a bill on plant protection and quarantine, revised law on reward and emulation, revised bidding bill, revised fire prevention and control, revised law on thrift practice, and employment bill.
They will consider amending the lawmaking programme of the legislature in 2013, 2014 and the whole tenure.
For the first time the NA will conduct votes of confidence for key post holders elected or ratified by the legislature.
The national radio and television systems will broadcast live the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as contentious debates on pressing issues relating to the implementation of socio-economic and budgetary tasks, thrift practice in using government bond sales, and Cabinet members’ hearing.
The NA Standing Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front have collected more than 1,700 opinions from voters and people across the country, raising issues of their concern, to the legislature.
The session will last more than a month.
