Legislature convenes year-end-session on Oct. 22

(VOV) - Lawmakers will begin a one-month long session in Hanoi on October 22 to discuss a wide range of important national issues, including approving major targets for 2013.

They are expected to pass nine bills and two resolutions, and give opinions on amendments to the 1992 Constitution and six other bills.

They will spend 10 days examining reports by the government, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuracy, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the National Assembly Standing Committee and other National Assembly committees.

The lawmakers will approve a resolution on the settlement of people’s petitions against administrative decisions on land.

The National Assembly has decided to raise the number of live radio and television broadcasts of its debates on important issues to 13, or five more than the previous session.

Scheduled broadcasts will focus on debates on the amended law on corruption prevention and control, amended land law, amendments to the 1992 Constitution, a resolution on confidence voting, and the settlement of people’s petitions against administrative decisions on land.
