Ha Tinh urged to become industrial province

(VOV) - National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has urged the central province of Ha Tinh to effectively implement Party resolutions on socio-economic development to become an industrial province in the near future. 

Hung held a working session with the province’s leaders on February 24 as part of his tour to the northern central region. 

He asked local authorities to enhance the leadership of Party committees and mobilise all resources to implement key projects. 

He stressed the importance of collecting people’s opinions on the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution, saying Ha Tinh needs to create favourable conditions for all the people to make their suggestions in any means of their choice. 

It was reported last year the province achieved an economic growth rate of 14 percent, with total budget revenue of VND4.1 trillion and GDP per capita of VND19.6 million per annum. Ha Tinh is one of the provinces that take the lead in building new rural areas. 

During his visit, the NA Chairman also inspected the VND2.4 trillion project to upgrade and expand the South Ben Thuy bridge section on National Highway 1A. The project is expected to meet the increasing demand of transportation, and reduce traffic jams and accidents.
