Chairwoman of 14th National Assembly swearing in

VOV.VN - Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Politburo member and top legislator of the 13th National Assembly, has been re-elected chairwoman of the 14th National Assembly.

In the swearing-in ceremony on July 22, the newly-elected NA Chair pledged absolute loyalty to the fatherland, the people and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. 

“I promise to exert my all-out effort to fulfil tasks assigned by the Party, State and people”, she said. 

She said with honor and great responsibility of the head of the supreme organ of state power and representative body of the people, she, together with members of the NA Standing Committee and NA deputies will promote the glorious tradition of the NA's 70-year development to effectively enforce legislative and constitutional functions, decide important issues of the nation and supervise all State activities according to the Constitution and law.

She promised to work with other NA deputies to continue renovating and improving the quality of NA performance to make it united and creative and act in the people’s interests, the honour and pride of the nation and national sustainable development.

Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan is the first female top legislator and first female top State and Party leader.
