Bac Ninh urged to step up industrialization and urbanization

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong has called on Bac Ninh province to work harder and become an industrialised locality by 2015 and a centrally-governed city in the next decade.

He met with key local officials on August 22 to review the results of socio-economic development and Party building in the province. 

Since 2011, the local economy has exceeded its annual target by of 16.1 percent. It ranks fifth and second in the country and the northern region respectively in terms of industrial growth, attracting a total of 407 projects with foreign direct investment hitting US$5.6 billion so far. 

The Party leader said while developing the local economy sustainably, Bac Ninh should focus on developing high-quality farming and support industry. 
Lying to the north of Hanoi, the province should joint efforts with the capital city to develop tourism and services. 
The party leader said it is very important to develop a strong political system by persistently implementing the Resolution on the Party build-up set at the fourth session of the CPV Central Committee. 
The same day, he visited Samsung Electronics Vietnam and DABACO companies, and the national standard Phuong Anh nursery school.
