Vietnam values ties with neighbours
President Truong Tan Sang received Cambodia's deputy Prime Minister Men Xom On on September 2 and thanked the Cambodian delegation for their presence at the 70th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day and August Revolution celebrations.
He highlighted the long traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia as well as the joint efforts of the two people in their struggle for independence and freedom.
President Sang said Vietnam would continue to build on its solidarity and co-operation with Cambodia.
He also received Lao Vice-President Bounnhang Vorachith, who led a delegation from Lao to join Vietnam's celebrations.
The two leaders said they were pleased with the development of the Vietnam-Laos relationship and co-operation on all fronts, including recently signed trade agreements which set a target for bilateral trade to reach US$2 billion this year, as well as numerous high-ranking delegation exchanges.
President Sang starts an official visit to China on September 3 at the invitation of Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping.
