Vietnam sends congratulatory letter to Japan on 45-year ties

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent a congratulatory letter to his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe on September 20 on the occasion of 45th anniversary of the Vietnam – Japan diplomatic relations (September 21, 1973 - 2018).

In the letter, PM stated bilateral friendship and cooperation have thrived across all fields over the past 45 years, meeting aspiration of and bringing practical benefit for the two countries’ people, thus contributing to peace, stability, prosperity, cooperation and development in the region and in the world.

Vietnam and Japan have become each other’s important partner, he wrote.

Based on good outcomes obtained so far, Phuc suggested the two countries continue strengthening their extensive strategic partnership toward a new height.

The PM also congratulated Abe on his re-election as president of the Liberal Democratic Party.

The same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh sent a congratulatory letter to Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono.
