Vietnam, Laos increase communications cooperation

The Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications and the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism signed a cooperation agreement for 2016-2020 in Vientiane on September 20.

The signing took place following a working session with Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan and Lao Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Bosengkham Vongdala the same day.

Tuan said bilateral communications cooperation over the past years has contributed to further strengthening mutual understanding and special solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

The host suggested giving priority to expanding high-level visits and exchanges, as well as holding seminars on press management.

Vongdala, for his part, thanked the Vietnamese Party, State, government and people for providing assistance for Laos and the Vietnamese ministry in particular.

He suggested increasing the sharing of news and programmes, encouraging media outlets, audio and television stations to develop joint projects, and offering short-term courses on press and publishing management to Lao partners.
